Add my storyBiography contributed by Dean Bolto
Roy Louis Coppin Bolto was the youngest child of George and Amelia (nee Coppin) Bolto. He was born in Littlehampton in 1891.
He enlisted in the army in 1915 and left Australia on November 15 with the 32nd Battalion B Company. He saw service in many areas of France. His diary notes were very matter of fact and without any complaints although one gets a very clear picture of the atrocious conditions under which these men fought.
In 1917 he was repatriated to England for a time and then returned to France where he saw further service as a sergeant and was awarded the Military Medal.
