Son of Charles Currie and Harriet Sims formerly Currie nee Craven of Campbell Street, Swan Hill, Victoria previously of Carlton, Victoria.

Brother of Frank Currie who was killed in action on 6 August 1916 while serving with the 45th Battallion and has no known grave. His name appears on Villers-Bretonneux Memorial and Alfred George Currie who returned to Australia on 21 July 1918 having served with the 29th Battalion
