Roy Lillingston

Roy Lillingston (12 May 1897 - 24 April 1918) was the 12th of 13 children born to George Steer Lillingston and Mary (nee Huddy). He was born in Ballarat, Victoria. His mother died in 1907 and his father the following year. He apparently worked for a time at the Sunnyside Woollen Mills and then as an apprentice signwriter. Roy's older sister Victoria (1874 - 1953) married Walter Ramage, and when they moved to WA, they took Roy and his younger brother Leslie with them and she looked after them until both boys enlisted, supposedly on Roy's 19th birthday.
Roy joined the Army whilst his brother Leslie joined the Navy.
His brother survived the war.
