John Alfred Sarre was born in 1899 in Victoria. He enlisted for the Australian Imperial Force On 23/7/1917 in his home town Echuca in Victoria and he was 18 yrs old but was in the war for less than a year. His service number was 4124 while he was in the AIF. His father was his next of kin, Richard James Sarre. He was not killed in action and survived the war and returned to Australia afterwards.
