Under extremely heavy fire he continuously dressed and carried wounded over very marshy and difficulty ground. He displayed absolute disregard of self and his conduct, did much to inspire confidence in others. Son of Robert Cooper and Mary Cooper nee Sloss of Hexham, Victoria.
Brother of Robert Cooper who killed in action on 9 October 1917 while seerving with the 24th Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on Menin Gate, Ypres also brother of John Sloss Cooper and William Cooper both of Hexham
