Biography contributed by Vicki Purnell

Advice has been received by Mrs. J. H. Wilson, of East Devonport, regarding the death of her fourth son,
Sergt.-Major Ronald Keith Wilson, who was killed in action on October 12 last.
At first Sergt.-Major Wilson was posted as missing. The next information received was that he had been found in hospital, and now it is officially recorded that he was! killed on October 17 of last year. The deceased left with the 40th Battalion, and in one of his
letters stated that he had been awarded
a French military medal for bravery. He posted the medal to his mother by another mail, but it went down
with the ship as the result of enemy action.
