Younger siblings James Turnbull and Robert Lamb Turnbull also served during the Great War. Lance Corporal James Turnbull of the 8th Battalion Royal Scots (Lothian Regiment) was Killed in Action on 17 March 1915 in France, while Private Robert Lamb Turnbull served with the 12th Royal Scots and was discharged on 5 March 1919.
