He was 32 and the son of Thomas Lutman Barrell and Alice Barrell; husband of Rose Caroline Barrell, [nee Steele] of 46, Tyrrel St., Newcastle, New South Wales.

Member of the St Andrews 198 Lodge

He married Rose Steele in 1908-marriage registered in Romford which, at that date, included Ilford, Essex.

In the United Kingdom, he is commemorated in the Ilford War Memorial Gazette and in the Ilford War Memorial Hall.
