Son of Alexander and Ellen Comb, of Merbein, Victoria, Australia. Born at Corack East, Victoria.

His headstone bears the inscription "I Know That My Redeemer Liveth"

A 23 year old labourer prior to enlisting on 14 July 1915, he embarked for overseas with C Company from Melbourne on 10 November 1915 aboard HMAT Ascanius. While serving in France, he was killed in action near Armentieres on 31 July 1916.
