MARRIAGE

Table Talk (Melbourne, Vic. : 1885 - 1939), Thursday 30 July 1925, page 43

SNODGRASS—SHELTON.

Miss Edith Linda Shelton made a charming bride on Wednesday, July 15, when her marriage with Mr. W. A. P. Snodgrass, eldest son of the late Mr. W. S. P. Snodgrass, of "Kilcoy," Yea, was celebrated by the Rev. A. Scott at .St. Paul's Church, Avenel.

The bride, who is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Shelton, of "Belmont," Avenel, wore a gown of ivory chiffon velvet sewn with pearls and diamente, and finished with ostrich plumage. Her lovely embroidered veil, lent by Mrs. Middleton, was secured with a coronet of orange blossoms, and fell in graceful folds over a gleaming silver train lined with pale blue chiffon. A bouquet of pink and white carnations was carried.

Misses Nancy Shelton and Rita Snodgrass, as bridesmaids, wore blue tulle vails held in place with silver leaves, over their turquoise blue chiffon velvet frocks, which had an ornament of feathers and roses at one side. They received wallets from the bridegroom. Mr. Kenneth Snodgrass was best man and Mr. Jack Shelton groomsman.About seventy guests were afterwards received at the public hall, which was effectively decked with the bridegroom's battalion colors, red and white. Mrs. R. J. Shelton wore a smart suit of cinnamon repp with a hat to match, and the bridegroom's mother had oriental satln on her black charmeuse gown, and wore a hat en suite.

On leaving for the honeymoon, the bride wore a grey tweed costume and a blue hat with the bridegroom's gift, a fur necklet.

Mr. and Mrs. W. A. P. Snodgrass will reside at "Kilcoy," Yea.
