Murt was born as Murtough CAPON in Sydney in 1886

His parents were Charles Frederick CAPON & Johanna Mary McNAMARA who married in Sydney on 25th January, 1883

He enlisted in the Royal Agricultural Showground in Sydney on 18th July, 1916 and embarked on the HMAT Ceramic with the 45th Infantry Battalion, 6th Reinforcements on 7th October, 1916

Murt was Killed in Action in France on 23rd February, 1917 - no known grave

His name is memorialised on the Villers Bretonneux Memorial & the Australian War Memorial
