Enlisted: 30-9-1915, Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.

He was 21 and the son of Jean Bruce Duncan and the late Thomas J. Duncan, of 16, West Savile Terrace, Edinburgh, Scotland.

He is one of three Australian casualties of the Great War honoured on the Dalkeith War Memorial.

The death is announced as having occurred on 21st November, from wounds received in action, of Pte. Wm.Bruce Duncan, Australians. The deceased, who emigrated to Australia some six or seven years ago, was the second son of the late Mr Thomas Duncan, bootmaker, Dalkeith, and of Mrs Duncan, 16 Saville Terrace, Edinburgh.       (Midlothian Roll of Honour 1914-1918)
