Served as Norman Urquhart but full was Robert Norman Urquhart 

Son of William Urquhart and Mary A. Urquhart of Harris Street, Pyrmont, NSW.

Brother of Albert Urquhart whose was killed in action on 30 April 1917 and was buried in the Vraucourt Corpse Cemetery, Plot 11, Row B, Grave 9, Hector Urquhart who was killed in action on 22 August 1915 and has no known grave, his name appears on Lone Pine Memorial, Panel 39; Edward Urquhart who died of pneumonia on 4 January 1917 and was buried in the Tidworth Military Cemetery, Row C, Grave 243 having served with the 17th Battalion and Leslie Ernest Urquhart who returned to Australia on 11 February 1919 having served with the 17th Battalion

3 August 1915 - enlisted at Warwick Farm with the 13th Battalion and with the rank of Private

11 April 1916 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Runic disembarking on 14 May 1916

Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

6 September 1916 - discharged at the 2nd Military District as medically unfit due to chronic eczema
