Son of the late G and Grace HAMMOND, 'Lestran' May street, Leichhardt, NSW

Robert served in Egypt and France and made the supreme sacrifice at Noreiul, near Bapaume 15 April 1917.

Prior to enlisting he was a member of the Highland Society's Newtown Pipe Band, and was in the Scottish Rifles for seven years.
