Embarked on HMAT Bulla (A45) on 24th June, 1916 at Adelaide with the 13th Reinforcements of the 27th Battalion . Disembarked Plymouth 24th August, 1916.

Taken on strength by the 27th Battalion, 2nd October, 1916 in Belgium.  

Accidently Wounded in Action (bomb wound to hand and leg. Caused by cleaning bombs) 6th of October, 1916. Re-joined 27th Battalion 16th November, 1916.

Wounded in Action (gassed) 23rd of July, 1918. Re-joined Battalion 17th August, 1918.

Wounded in Action (gunshot wound right buttock) 2nd of September, 1918.

 Disembarked Australia 28th February, 1919 per 'Margha'

Discharged due to end of war: 22nd June, 1919
