MR. C. McNEILL
A WELL known and highly respected member of Camperdown in the person of Mr. Colin McNeill, of Manifold street, died on Thursday, May 5, at the age of 76 years. Born at Koroit, the late Mr. McNeill married Margaret Lucas, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lucas, of Winslow, 49 years ago. After residing at Koroit for two years he came to  Camperdown, where he was engaged as a horse-breaker on Wiridgil and Purrumbete Estates. He was clerk of the course at Camperdown racecourse for 25 years.

The late Mr. McNeill served in the 1914-18 war, enlisting in 1916 in the 14th Battalion. He served abroad for 537 days. After carrying on as a share farmer for 20 years with the  late Mr. H. Stansmore, he took up a soldier settler's block as a dairy farmer on the Koort Koortnong Settlement. Due to ill-health he relinquished dairying in 1938 and retired to Camperdown, where he resided until his death.

The late Mr. McNeill leaves a widow and one sister, Mrs. Carey (Coburg) and a brother, Mr. Donald McNeill (Coburg).
