Harold John Wilkin 29th Battalion was captured at Fromelles, age 23, on the 19 July 1916. His twin brother Ernest Frank Wilkin also of the 29th Battalion was killed in action on the same day. His remains were missing until 2008 when they were identified and reburied in the Pheasant Wood Cemetery at Fromelles.
Harold was eventually released from captivity and returned to Dover England 2 December 1918. He returned to Australia in March 1919.
