1st Australian Aux. Hospital Harefield 30/7/1917 - 13/8/1917 - Whilst isolated at Grantham for mumps contracted Neuritis after Cerebro Spinal Meningitis.  Whilst isolated at grantham he contracted C.S. Meningitis.  Pains all over, fever and delerium for 4 or 5 days.  Isolated for two months.  Whilst still in bed and ever since he has been troubled with pains down backs of both thighs and legs.  Worse on exercise or stretching.  At present he has pains down the backs of both thighs an down the backs of the legs as far as the ankles.  Causes him trouble in sitting down.  Has had hot air and massaged but there has been very little improvement during the last 6 months.  some  muscular weakenss in back and legs.

Returned to Australia per 'Suevic' 18 November 1917

Discharged 24 December 1917 as medically unfit.
