Alan Eglinton ECKFORD was born in Queensborough, Hobart, Tasmania on 1st March, 1898
His parents were Arthur Eglinton Montgomery ECKFORD & Ethel Maude PARKER

His brother Douglas Eglinton ECKFORD (SN 7731) also served during WW1 and was discharged on 11th May, 1917 (1st Infantry Battalion) - he also served during WW2 (SN N24022) and was discharged on 16th April, 1945
