Son of Michael Andrew John Vardy and Mary Ellen Frances Vardy nee Downing of  'Ivy Cottage', Campbelltown, NSW. 

Brother of William Carroll Vardy who returned to Australia on 15 February 1919 having served with the 1st Field Artillery Brigade

Commenced return to Australia on 2nd January 1919 aboard HT Karmala disembarking on 15 February 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney
