Prior to enlisting he was serving his painter's apprenticeship with Birch & Bradshaw, Painters of Eden Street, Auckland, NZ

Commenced return to Australia on 12 May 1919 aboard HT Port Napier disembarking on 5 July 1919

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal

In 1932 he was residing in Mossman, NSW

Husband of Ellice Rosamond Capper nee Dunkwas erley. Henry and Ellice married in Auburn, NSW during 1943c
