Early in October 1919, George Silver, from Timboon, attended a meeting at the Cobden Shire Hall, where he and Messrs.Angus were appointed committeemen to begin a sub branch of the Returned Soldiers and Sailors Imperial League.

A group of returned soldiers met in at the Shire Hall to form a sub branch of the returned Soldiers and Sailors Imperial League, among them were from Timboon Messrs. Angus and Silver. 15 new members were enrolled. The two gentlemen mentioned were both on the Timboon Honour Roll.
