'COUNTRY NEWS.

MURWILLUMBAH.— The funeral of Sergeant L. R. Moss. M.M., who died in Rosemont Military Hospital on Saturday, was largely attended. He was buried with full military honors. Deceased was one of a family of seven sons who all participated in the war. One brother was lost in the sinking of the cruiser Hawke. Moss was wounded and gassed in the last stages of the war, and this, with heart affection was responsible for his death.' from The Daily Telegraph 31 Dec 1919 (nla.gov.au)

'MEMORIAL SERVICE.

To Late Sergt. L. R. Moss, M.M.

A memorial service to the late Sergt. Len. Moss, - M.M., held at All Saints' Church of England, Murwillumbah, last night, was attended by a large congregation. Included in the latter were two brothers of deceased, Messrs. Don. Moss and Will. Moss, and a number of returned men. The pulpit and honor boards were draped with the Union Jack and the Commonwealth Flag.

Prayers were offered by the officiating minister, Rev. H. P. Lomas, for the relatives and friends of the deceased soldier. The subject of the sermon was "Quit you like men. Be strong." The preacher remarked that they were not there to speak of that which the late Sergt. Moss had done, but only to pay respect that was due to him for having done his duty. During the service Bugler C. French sounded the "Last Post," and after the Benediction the Band played the Dead March in Saul.' from Tweed Daily 5 Jan 1920 (nla.gov.au)
