Add my storyBiography contributed by Jennifer Freeman
Sydney was raised in the Methodist faith, and was a conscientious objector, serving in the Medical Corps as a stretcher bearer in the 2nd Australian Field Ambulance as a way of not involving himself in combat roles. After the war he returned to Melbourne and helped establish the 'Carry On' Club which helped ex-servicemen with employment and welfare on their return from the war.
