Proceeded to BEF from Alexandria, Egypt on 4 June 1916, arriving in Marselles, France on 11 June 1916.

The Victory Medal was received by his mother 21 February 1923; Memorial Scroll & King's Message on 19 January 1922; Memorial Plaque on 8 August 1922. His mother also received his effects on 19 October 1917. His effects were his identity disc, Testament, letters, Gospel of St. Matthew and Stationery.
