Biography contributed by Kathleen Bambridge

Mr Prout was a member of the  State Council for 9 years from 1970 to 79.  He served as president of the Aldgate from 1970 to 1978. Held the position of War Veterans Home Liaison Officer.  It was in the position on the Sub Branch Building Committee which he held for 5 years.  It was reported "This Man's efforts for the good of the Aldgate RSL Sub Branch are untiring and it is estimated that the total hours spent in the Clubrooms working about 60 hours per week.  Whitout him the extentions which all members enjoy along with every other amenity would not be possible, and in the face of strong opposition that things can not be done he has rallied his few supporters and gone ahead and built the clubrooms that we enjoy today and with very little overdraft required along the way.  Whilst finnalising the last payment towards the last extension or renovation he is already arousing interest to better the club rooms.  If this man were to be taken from us, I feel sure that there is nobody else who could put so much work and hours into a club to continue it".

He was a Hospiatl Visitor.  A badge seller on ANZAC Day, Poopy Day.  He organised Barbaques, Cabarets in aid of War Veterans Homes, and country trip to other bub branches.  he suppoerted legacy.

He was on the Stirling District Council for 14 years.  He served as president of the Mylor Hall Committee,  6 as the Mylor Oval committee.  He was a member of the Mylor Emergency Fire Service.  Member of the Mylor Senior Citizens Club for 10 years ( formed from the  Mt barker, Onkaparinga, Handorf Senior Citizens clubs).  Frederick was the president of the Southern Hills Zone  Senior Citizens Club.  Stirling District Council Civic Award April 1978.    he was awarded a Life Membership of the RSL in 1979 and a League Service Award 1975
