He was 28 and the son of Frederick and Harriet Jones; husband of Mary Lloyd Jones, of 68, Argyle St., Moonee Ponds, Victoria.
He is one of seven Australian soldier casualties of the Great War honoured on the Southport War Memorial but 3 of these cannot be verified; they are:
