Stoker Baxter William Wilson (Service No:PA3237) initially served in the ACMF (Private; Service No:S57378) at HQ Wayville from 25 October 1941 to 5 October 1942 before enlisting in the RAN on 7 October 1942. Stoker Wilson was attached to HMAS Penguin at Discharge on 28 March 1946.

Baxter was born in Kadina, South Australia in 1922, eldest of three children of William Leslie Wilson (b1891 in Maldon, Victoria) and his second wife Clarissa Nieman Roberts (b1896 in Malalla, South Australia). William (a Widower) and Clarissa married in 1918 at Port Wakefield, South Australia and lived in Kadina, Yorketown and Port Broughton where they raised their family and William was a Butcher. William had served in the AIF in WWI (Private; Service No:414) and was a Restaurant Keeper in Wallaroo in 1913.

Baxter was living at Port Broughton where he worked as a Fisherman before enlisting in the ACMF in 1941. In 1946 he Discharged from the Navy and, at Port Adelaide that year, married Shirley Betty Lorraine Sellen (b1924 in Adelaide, South Australia). Baxter worked as a Stockman in Whyalla, and died in 1970. Shirley died in 1994.
