Biography

Dad's favourite time was at Xmas with Audrey, his wife & children (Roger, Jennifer, Graham) their spouses( (Jean, Desmond and Rose) and grand children (Darren, Lisa, Mark, Jodie, Brett, Melanie and Ashley). He was a man of few words but always encouraged us to succeed.......we all worked with him at Cooke and Wallis (catering firm) either at Adelaide oval or at the race course.....unfortunately when he retired he died unexpectantly six months later. My personal memory was how he hated Elvis Presley and loved Bing Crosby....we all disagreed with him on that point....I believe his navy career started before 1939 as a reservist to earn money...he helped provide for his family (mother 2 brothers and 3 sisters)...my grandfather died in his thirties from TB. His 2 siblings were also in the forces.
