Acting Leading Seaman Charles Lawrence Bell, 24, is the only child of Mr. and Mrs. L. Bell, of Light street. Exeter. He was in the R.A.N.R. six years before the war, and was  called up immediately hostilities broke out. He has been in the Perth since September. His previous ship was the Manoora. He was educated at Lefevre's Peninsula School. Before joining up he was employed at Holden's.
