1908 - Keen & competitive cyclist - League of Queensland Wheelmen

1914 - Enlisted 18th December - Corporal No. 1423 - 9th Battalion 2nd Reinforcements

1915 - 13th February - Embark Brisbane, HMAT Seang Bee A48 

1916 - Returned home - February - due to illness from being gassed -after 18 weeks in the trenches with 9th Battalion - now with A.P.C.

1916 - 18th May - Embark Sydney, HMAT Demosthenes A64 - Sergeant - No. 1  - 11th Infantry Brigade Headquarters

1920 - Married Kathleen Lang, 14th April - Jack Garrett best man

1923 - Secretary, Castle Creek A.P. Race Club
