Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of Eric John PRYOR, 10 Hyland Terrace, Rosslyn Park, SA

Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Pryor, of Hyland Terrace, Rosslyn Park, have been informed by the Air Board that their son PO K.E. Pryor, has been awarded the DFC.  The citation of the award reads -

"As an air bomber, PO Pryor has completed many operations against heavily defended targets.  In December, 1944, during the attack on Trier, he received injuries to his face and hands from a shell fragment, but, despite this, he continued to dirct his pilot on to the target, and the attack as successful.  Not until the aircraft was on the return journey did he inform his captain that he had been wounded.  PO Pryor has always shown outstanding courage and devotion to duty."

PO Pryor enlisted in 1940, after he graduated from Roseworthy College with the Roseworthy Diploma in Agriculture.  He arrived in England in 943 and operated with a Lancaster squadron.   He returned to Australia on July 6.  He was born in Millicent, attended Unley and Adelaide High Schools and played football for Roseworthy College.
