World War II Service
Archie enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force on 30 January 1940 at Laverton, Victoria, joining the Permanent Forces for the duration of the war and twelve months thereafter.

Discharge and Later Life
Archie's RAAF appointment was terminated on 8 November 1945 following demobilisation. He and Lorna returned to Quorn.
Archie's name appears on the Port Augusta St Augustine's Church Memorial Honour Roll.
Passing and Legacy
Archie passed away on 7 March 1993 at Port Augusta District Hospital, aged 82. He was buried in Quorn Town Cemetery, beside Lorna. Their shared memorial plaque bears both their names and honours Archie's service in the RAAF.
Archie is remembered as a skilled signals and communications specialist whose wartime service contributed to Australia's military efforts in the Southwest Pacific.
