Norman Leigh was born on 11 August 1925 in South Australia, Australia. Norman, was the middle child of Norman and Gwenllean Wright. He joined the RAAF on 4 December 1943 where he obtained the rank of Leading Aircraftman, he was discharged on 4 June 1945.
Norman married Maxine Barbara Cocking on 4 September 1948 in Adelaide, South Australia.They had two children together in their marriage. Norman died on 17 January 1972 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, at the age of 46.
