Son of William Sidney and Mary Irene Pontt, of Pyap, South Australia.

Kenneth Arthur Pontt was the third child of William Sidney (Bill) Pontt and Mary Pontt (nee Start).
Other children in the family were Keith William Pontt, Irene Lorna Raines, Dorothy May Reichstein, Shirley Esther Crispe, Sidney Charles Pontt, Kathleen Mary Humphries, Brian John Pontt and Joan Valerie Paasuke.
The Pontt family lived at Pyap, South Australia, on a fruit block.
Ken Pontt went to Pyap Primary School and then became the first of his family to attend Loxton Secondary School where he had to ride his bike 8 miles each way to school.His parents were very thrilled when he passed his Intermediate Certificate.
Kenneth elisted in the RAAF during World War 2 and was killed in action in New Guinea in January 1945.His rank was Flight Sergeant. The tragedy of his death was felt deeply by the family and members of the wider Pyap community.
