Son of Elijah Osborne and Ellen Susannah Osborne nee Evans of Spring Gardens, Warrnambool, Victoria.

During 1913c George married Florence Janes Briggs in Victoria. Florence died in 1915c.

Commenced return to Australia on 21 July 1917 aboard HT Euripides disembarking on 18 September 1917
