Flight Sergeant 417799 Calder, RAAF, was the son of Major John Calder and Ruby Calder of Unley Park, South Australia.

He died on 17th March 1944, whilst on board Wellington Bomber BK 352 on a training flight which overshot the runway and crashed at Brackley Airfield, Winchester. Flt Sergeant Calder was 19.
