Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of Walter John and Ellen Kingsmill, of Loxton, South Australia.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter J. Kingsmill, of Loxton, have received advice that their elder son, Sgt-Observer John Allen Kingsmill, is missing, believed to have lost his life. On August 23 his aircraft crashed into the Firth of Clyde near Culzean Castle, which is about 12 miles south-west of Ayr. Scotland. The remains of one member of the crew were recovered from the  sea, but no trace had been found of other members of the crew. Sgt. Kingsmill was on the staff of the Bank of Adelaide. His only brother, Leslie, is in the RAAF, training to be a pilot.
