Sergeant Wilum 416639 of Number 2 Aircraft Park based at Bankstown was killed when Kittyhawk A29-511 was lost at sea during a delivery flight from Bundaberg to Townsville

The aircraft crashed about 2 miles offshore from Carmilla in Queensland (Broadsound area) - his body was not recovered and he is commemorated on Panel 7 of the Sydney Memorial
