His parents were William John Hamilton SMITH & Adelaide Mary Belle WILLIAMS who married in St Peters Chuch in Adelaide on 16th September, 1914

His brother Colin George Hamilton SMITH (SN 7196) served in the Army during WW2 and died of wounds on 2nd May, 1941 - 2/8 Field Ambulance
