WHAT GREATER LOVE
Sgt. Bob Christie, Loxton, Missing
Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Christie, of Pata, have been advised that their second son, Sgt.-Pilot Robert Stanley (Bob) Christie is reported missing in air operations on the night of June 11- 12. Born at Loxton, Sgt. - Pilot Christie was 23 years of age. He enlisted in September 1940, and received his call and started training in May 1941. He left Australia in September and landed in Egypt, he was sent to Southern Rhodesia and gain ed his wings there last July. He went to England in September where he continued his training, and was posted to a Lancaster bomber. Sgt. -Pilot Christie received his education at Pata and Loxton Schools and later at the Urrbrae Agricultural High School. At the time of enlist ing he was employed by Goldsbrough Mort & Co. at Loxton. His elder Brother, Sig. W. L. (Bert) Christie is serving in the RAN.
