S.A. VICTIM OF AIR CRASH
Sergeant Norman Leslie Thomas 20, of Elmo avenue, Westbourne Park, who was killed in an air craft accident during exercise about 30 miles from Melbourne, enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force about 12 months ago. Two airmen from Victoria, one from Queensland, and one from New South Wales were also victims of the crash. Sgt. Thomas, a wireless air gunner, received his earlier training at Somers, Victoria. and at Ballarat, Port Pirie, and Mount Gambier. He was educated at Unley High School, and was a member of Westbourne Park Hockey Club. The elder son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Q. Thomas, of Westbourne Park, he was given an Air Force funeral today. The cortege left for the Centennial Park Cemetery, Springbank, after a service in the Westbourne Park Methodist Church.
