Son of Bernard Lake Mills and Jessie Ethel Mills; husband of Jean Alison Mills, of Prospect, South Australia.
Sgt. John Lake Mills, who was posted missing in air operations on January 12, 1942 in the Celebes Islands, is now officially presumed to have lost his life on that date.
Sgt. Mills is a son of Mr. B. Mills, and the late Mrs. Mills, formerly of St. Peters. He enlisted in the Air Force at the outbreak of war, and on completion of his training at Ballarat and Evans Head, was posted to No. 13 Bomber Sauadron which was cited by the US War Department for its gallantry in action in the islands north of Australia daring the early days of the war. Sgt. Mills has left a widow, formerly Miss Jean Marshall of Prospect.
