Returned to farming after the war.
Married Colleen in 1952 and later moved (1956) to a farm (Mindrow Creek) 10 kms west of Cowell.
Fathered 8 children and now has over 70 descendants.
He is retired and currently in the Cowell Hostel (May 2016)
His wife Colleen still lives in the home on Cowell they purchsed after retiring from farming.
Geralds hobbies included tinkering with electronics, building his own cathode ray oscilliscope and before solid state and silicon chip components, was the sole radio and TV repairer which he did basically at cost for locals.
Always a member of the local RSL and later included the local Probus Club.
