Sergeant Ronald Frederick Browning (Service No:122936) enlisted in the ACMF on 16 December 1941 before enlisting in the RAAF on 5 April 1943. Sergeant Browning was attached to Air Force HQ at Discharge on 7 November 1945.
Born in 1923 in Brisbane QLD, Ron was the only child of Allen Browning (b1897 in London, England) and Nellie Florence Hopkins (b1898 in Essex, England). Nellie immigrated in 1915 with her father and siblings, arriving in Brisbane, QLD on board the Roscommon and Allen immigrated in 1915 with his mother and siblings, arriving in Sydney, NSW on board the Borda. Allen served in WWI, and he and Nellie married in 1920 in Brisbane, QLD where Allen worked as a Labourer, House Painter, Insurance Agent and Union Organiser. Allen and Nellie divorced in the early 1930s and Ron lived with his mother.
Ron was a Refrigerator Mechanic (Kelvinator) and was in Adelaide, South Australia when he enlisted. Following his Discharge, Ron was working as a Refrigerator Mechanic in Brisbane in 1953 when he suffered fatal injuries in a motorcycle accident.
