3 May 1917: | Honoured Military Medal, "During the 3rd. May operations near NOREUIL he was with Lieut. Davies in O.G. 1. Each time the enemy attacked in O.G. 1 Pte. KNIGHT stood out alone in his efforts. On two occasions he got out of the trench and threw bombs down on the enemy although under M.G. fire. He was wounded in the leg and although thoroughly exhausted hung on till night, when he was ordered to the rear by the senior officer present. | |
