A coroner's report is being prepared on the death in a military hospital on Wednesday of Leading Aircraftman Wilfred Glen Potter, 29, married, of Ormonde avenue., Edwardstown East. Potter collapsed and died suddenly while undergoing an X-ray examination of his throat. Constable A. C. Fry, of Colonel Light Gardens, is preparing the report.
Court of Enquiry - The abovenamed airman, Carpenter Rigger, No. 6 S.F.T.S. died at No. 7 R.A.A.F. Hospital (105 A.G.H. Section) Colonel Light Gardens, at aprrox, 1215 hours on 17 November 1943. Airman was on duty at time of death. Cause of death was Cardiac and respitory failure following the use of Decicain as a loal anaestheict preparatory to the taking of a bronchogram. No pseron or persons were to blae for same, airman having a sensitivity to Decicain. There is no reconised test for the ascertainment of such sensitivity prior to the use of Decicain upon the patient.
