Add my storyBiography
As the eldest of eight children, Ernest married a country (Wooragee) girl in 1909 and life was all ahead of this young couple but unfortunately lost their first born, Irene, as an infant. But Ernest (Jnr.) and Leslie followed. Tradegy struck this young family when Edith died in pregnancy in September 1915 of Hyperemisis gravideum. Ernest enlisted soon after leaving his young boys with the extended family around Moonee Ponds. After his return from the war Ernest's health was problematical and despite a Railway Porter job he died in 1928 having re-married Lucy Steedman in the year of his death.
Ernest Jnr. was a Sergeant in Albury in WW2 and a celebrated pianist until his death in 1990. Leslie had a large family and became a qualified accountant in Melbourne. Les died in 1975.
