Son of Mr and Mrs Leslie Ernest BARLOW, of Young Street, Solomontown, SA. Educated at Solomontown Public School, George was employed at the shipyards at Whyalla prior to enlisting in the RAAF in September 1941. His father served in The Great War in teh 10th and 50th Battalions and saw fighting at Gallipoli and France, being a Lewis Gunner and was wounded three times.
