Biography

Bob fathered two boys, Graham Morgan Williams (Tasmania) and Mark Ewart Williams (Canada).

Bob stated his career as a Motor mechanic with his father and also with his brother Mel, at Glenelg. He spent a short time as a Jackaroo in the Northern Territory.

When Bob joined the services he was posted to New Guinea as an Engineer. During his tour he worked on different types of aircraft and maintained mechanical equipment. One time he was sent to repair a pump in the bush and, got separated from his troop for some time, so he made do with the company of the natives who helped him to survive.

Once back in Australia after the war Bob started a trade as an electrican with Menz Chocolates (Adelaide). He was emlpoyed for 40 years until he became sick with lung cancer at 61 years old.

Bob was fond of horse racing and was an on-track  bookmaker with his other brother Merv, on the weekends.

He was loved by his family very much and would have loved to have lived to see his Grandchildren.

Many people with whom Bob came into contact always remember him as a kind, quiet, and helpful person. He would always help out when asked.

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to honour my Dad. - Mark Williams (now too a Grandpa and privliged to know my grand-children).
